What Customers Say About The Battle of Los Angeles:

The album spawned four singles, "Guerilla Radio", "Sleep Now in the Fire", "Testify" and "Calm Like a Bomb". Allmusic, Rolling Stone Vibe all gave the album favorable reviews. The album peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200, and in Canada and #23 in the UK. The Battle of Los Angeles being RATM 1999 release and their 3rd studio album and is a mix of rap metal, alternative metal, and funk metal. 4/5. They also have a list of political groups and organizations that the band condones. The booklet contains all the lyrics including a list of whom plays what on the album. The critics and the public at large liked this album.

After hearing the crappy cover version of "Killing in the Name", from Guitar Hero, I decided to check these guys out for myself. Tim also did an impressive job on making that awesome affect on his bass. is all that needs to be said about this band and their third album.

To me, CALM LIKE A BOMB is quite definately the best song on here. If you never heard of these guys, you are definately missing out on the best that music in general has to offer. I love the pulsating lyrics and the guitar on this song, especially during the choruses.

Amazing. But their third album definately raises the bar. BUY THIS ALBUM.

The pure raw rage of Zack's lyrics and Tom's fantastic guitar skills makes this their best album yet. And that one song was all it took for me to get hooked on these guys.

One thing that makes the band so great is that they're so much different than any other band today or in the 90s when they were most popular. No other band has ever had such revolutionary ideas, and it's very unfortunate that they broke up. The final album by the politically active metal/funk band is by far their best. They always took a stand and they did whatever they felt was right to do, whether it was putting upsidedown American flags up on stage during a performance on Saturday Night Live or going on stage completely naked at Lollapalooza. Anyway, Los Angeles is a great album, and I recommend it even if you don't like crappy music. Even though it's a combination of all the genres I dislike--rap, metal, with a little bit of funk--it's still one of the most powerful albums I've ever listened to. The whole thing is just so incredibly catchy that it makes you want to listen to it over and over again.

Even so, Morello and friends can do no worse then offer a perfectly solid release of standardized Rage mechanics. Had it not been for the strange covers release following, TBOLA would have been a good enough last release for this trailblazing group. It sounds like their most accessible, least antagonistic work, breaking down the uniquely aggressive rap-rock dynamic into almost an exact science, leaving a flabby midsection which negates that added spark of rawness which truly brilliant Rage tracks always teetered against.

for an excellent price it is a must have. Rage it is one of the greates bands of the 90s and on this album they prove it. It starts with Testify which is a really good song, and just keeps getting better and better, you just wanna keep listening to it over and over again, I totally recommend it.
